The rock genre is inundated with excellent songs to listen to, but there are a few that simply steal the show. These are albums that have been revered for generations and will be revered for generations to come. Here’s a list of Kuna’s selection of the top rock albums to listen to before you die. I have ensured that the list is brief and concise, so it only features the best of the best.

Please note that the selections might be based on personal bias. Nevertheless, these are all legendary albums.

1. Paranoid- Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath’s second studio album, Paranoid captures the very essence of everything we love about black sabbath — Ozzy’s ominous vocals and the bands dark, gloomy music. Paranoid is hailed as Black Sabbath’s masterpiece, and rightly so.

2. Appetite For Destruction – Guns n’ Roses.

Whether its orchestral sounds, mystical blues or folky acoustic, Physical Graffiti has it all. Led Zeppelin’s iconic play style is reflected in the album’s songs. Physical Graffiti’s Kashmir is one of the most venerated songs by Led Zeppelin. As Robert Plant himself said-“I wish we were remembered fro Kashmir more than Stairway to Heaven.”

Pink Floyd’s eighth studio album is a masterpiece that defined the music of the decade. The Dark Side Of The Moon is one of the most ground-breaking albums ever created, which brings together metalheads and alternative rockers alike.

7. A Night At The Opera:

The commercial success of previous albums granted Queen creative freedom over their songs. This resulted in the legendary A Night At The Opera. To most, this album is interchangeable to their 6-minute long classic hit Bohemian Rhapsody, a song who’s utter brilliance is hard to put down in words. Nevertheless, Queen’s 4th studio album features some other marvelous songs, such as Love Of My Life among others.

8. Bohemian Rhapsody: The Original Soundtrack-

It’s hard to pinpoint a single album to encapsulate Queen’s brilliance. However, Freddie’s biopic Bohemian Rhapsody also features a celebrated collection of their best songs. The films original soundtrack is the best compilation of Queen’s blessings

9. Led Zeppelin IV

I reserved the best for the last. Led Zeppelin IV features the iconic Stairway To Heaven, among other classics like Black Dog and When The Levee Breaks. This studio album captures the essence of Zeppelin.

Led Zeppelin IV also happens to be my favorite album(along with A Night At The Opera, solely due to Bohemian Rhapsody).
